Ilaneer pudding from Thakkaram, Kazhakkuttom - to this day the best dessert I ever had. Also there is Vanilla Panacotta which used to have from our cafeteria after lunch, when I was in UK for a year. Also while in UK, we used to take different flavoured yoghurts from vending machines - good too esp mango and strawberry flavours.
One day old chilled palada prathaman or chakka prathaman will stay evergreen though.
Ok people, you cannot just say elaneer pudding and elaneer payasam and just move on. Do they use coconut milk or do they actually use coconut in this pudding or payasam??
Some hot post Sadhya palada, with/withour your choice of sides (pazham and or pappadam) in the afternoon.
Leave it in the fridge for a few hours, and then you have some beautiful chilled post dinner palada
I personally don’t mix anything with my palada lol but I’ve seen people mix pazham/pappadam with palada. Probably helps with mellowing down all the milk milkmaid induced sweetness
Pazham Pani
Most of you haven't even heard of this kerala own dessert
Very hard to get original pani because it'll take alot of time to prepare.
Made with madurakallu (Sweet toddy).
Are we talking kerala ? Ambalapuzha palpayasam was the most intoxicating experience. We had got it in large quantities for college onam celebration as part of department association to one up the other branches. I was involved in serving it, and ended up having 4-5 glasses. 30 minutes later got a sugar rush and went into deep sleep for 2-3 hours in the middle of the day.
Although more sugar doesn't mean better right.
In that regard , i like our classic jaggery Ada and kozhukatta. It's perfect.
Well, it kinda looks like chappati but a lot more thinner and yellowish .its sweet but not too much. I'm not a fan of eating boli alone. But with payasam , man it's perfection. I think it's commonly made in tvm , Kollam, etc
Gulab Jamun with Vanilla ice cream is my favourite. But once I had a melting chocolate cake with Vanilla ice cream and that was orgasmic. But I couldn't feel that goodness next time when I ordered.
Desserts are like offsprings to me I can't differentiate between them. Naadan, Bengali, Western, Mediterranean etc. BTW Diary Desserts have a special place for itself
Chocolate baklava works well only with the quality of cocoa being really top shelf.
Fresh off the wok Jalebi with milk is actually a bonafide breakfast in punjab 😊
I was scrolling down to see if any one said this. I distinctly remember the paalpayasam I had at the ambalapuzha temple more than two decades ago. It was a bit pink in colour and I could see the red husk in the rice. Yum!
Sadly I haven't gone to the ambalapuzha temple but my grandmom makes it for me for my every bday!! :D The pink color always fascinates me haha 🥰 glad to know you like it too!!
Semiya payasam ,Godhambu nuruk payasam, Kanji payasam, and(i don't remember).Such a narrow way was the path to desserts and payasam for me.
Fave combo:semiya payasam + Chambaka
Chocolate cake with chocolate or vanilla ice cream is the best thing in the whole wide world, I swear. You don't even have to go for the expensive stuff
Just combining packaged cupcake with whatever generic ice cream brand is enough. It is great, guys.
Ice cold paalada hits different

Theres a restaurant in banglore called "kappa chakka kanthari". They have awesome elaneer pudding
Haha I was a frequent visitor to KCK in Chennai. Love the ellaneer pudding there.
Ok people, you cannot just say elaneer pudding and elaneer payasam and just move on. Do they use coconut milk or do they actually use coconut in this pudding or payasam??
They use actual elaneer, not coconut flesh or coconut milk
Why are u surprised lol i said ila instead of ela ma bad
Still, Ilaneer is Karikku right? An immature coconut?
Yup
Kumbilappam is my all time favourite. Make it with some Chakkapazham, I'll likely give you my kidney for free.
Omg....all my life had the "regular" ones...this Onam I had the one with chakkapazham...what a game changer!
Ikr, chakkapazham made it taste divine.

Elaneer pudding. Love it. Kept ordering those from Aurum cloud
Aurum cloud is a next level restaurant. Their biriyani is honestly one of the best in the city
Gulab Jamun with Vanilla ice cream is my favourite. But once I had a melting chocolate cake with Vanilla ice cream and that was orgasmic. But I couldn't feel that goodness next time when I ordered.
Yes. It doesn't work everytime though. Only when you least expect it. Also OP was asking for Kerala dessert
Oh my bad. I saw dessert and started typing lol.
Ambalapuzha palpayasam. Heaven.
Tastes so much like Milkmaid!

Gulab jamun
Gulab jamun and rasgulla are northern desserts, right?
Pretty sure they must've only read the title, not the description. Title only says desserts. Edit: typo 😬

Almost every dessert is the best dessert for me, but cold Ada prathaman after a hearty sadhya hits different....
