So what you are saying is that if someone sneaks into your country they should be allowed to stay and be free to go about their business (as he didn't follow rules and tried to get in without that being noticed he technically did try to sneak in for those who can't keep up)? Because while he is contradicting himself so are the people using this as a gotcha.

ShlomoIbnGabirol

Now do one about illegal immigration!!

I have no problem at thinking that all the twats running propaganda pages on twitter, left or right, are just pandering to the least educated of those on their "side." By which I mean they have no side and only post this shit to gather followers and make money with that. The Left need to understand that open borders with zero security is insane and begs for criminals to take advantage of it and many would suffer as a direct result. But at the same time the Right need to understand that open immigration made easy would not ruin anything and would lower the illegal crossings meaning those coming in would be documented and thus have to pay taxes which they always claim is the scam. Then when caught not declaring themselves the argument is hard to make they arent up to shit.

davidIopan

This is dumb. Anyone who thinks these tweets are somehow contradictory must be having an off day. Saying “people carrying the virus can still legally cross the border this early in the pandemic” and “not following local pandemic laws and guidelines can get you rejected at the border” are essentially the same discussion separated by almost 2 years of pandemic.

gosh, it's almost as if the people constantly spamming these shitposts aren't actually all that good at critical thinking or something

davidIopan

Some people are in dire need of self-own warnings.

smokeeater150

Warnings they will never understand.

Bulky_Cry6498

Fuck off

oh hi, Parler/GETTR/trump.win/Telegram/VKontakte/wherever tf these things come from, didn't see you there

cpancoast

Well, in his defense Australia is both a continent and an island so while land borders might not keep out a virus, an ocean probably would.

Acceptable-Regret-23

Based on current case counts I don’t think the ocean theory held up well.

cpancoast

Planes are certainly not helping my theory

Acceptable-Regret-23

Yea, boats probably aren’t helping either. Unfortunately the movement of goods is critical to our way of life at this point.

VeganPotatoMan

...... Are you trying to make a point?

Inconsistantly

Hey i follow him, hes great!

XcheatcodeX

Brooklyn Dad is an absolute moron

bacchusfa

Why? These tweets have no actual relevance to each other.

came1opard

He is a moron for reasons unrelated to these tweets, who are indeed in no contradiction to each other.

XcheatcodeX

Brooklyn dad is Twitter porn for liberals who haven’t admitted they’re actually republicans yet

bacchusfa

That's a stretch

Beginning-Computer38

Vaccine mandates won’t stop the pandemic either, especially in light of the fact that they are rather ineffective at stopping transmission of the virus. Not sure why vaccinated people (of which I am one) are so up in arms about the unvaxxed assuming the risk of serious illness.

smokeeater150

Could it be we don’t want to see our fellow creatures get sick. Or it might the fact we don’t want to see our hospitals overstretched stopping other non-covid problems from being dealt with in a timely manner. Edit: I hate spelling mistakes.

Spork_Facepunch

Yep. Where I'm at, it's hard to get a hospital bed for any reason right now. Between the massive spike in covid cases, nursing burnout, and hospital staff getting sick, the capacity is at its worst since the start of the pandemic. One of the major hospitals is 25% over capacity. My spouse works in cancer care and they are unable to get beds for oncology patients anywhere in the area. There are going to be serious spill-over effects in many areas over the next few weeks that will impact lots of people that don't even have covid.

bacchusfa

And kicking people out of cues waiting for procedures that in the end will kill them if they don't have them to make room for CHUDS who refuse to comply because of their "freedumbs!"

ShlomoIbnGabirol

The hospitals being overwhelmed is the better argument now that the stopping transmission argument has been neutered by omicron. That said, you don’t exactly see very many Covid hospitalizations among 34 year old elite athletes.

DiscoJocky99

Maybe the fact the hospitals are overwhelmed, operations and cancer treatments getting cancelled…..Covid kills the unvaccinated and those in need of other medical attention. Not being a selfish cunt and being able to follow the scientific proof is the major problem.

ShlomoIbnGabirol

The hospitals are making a policy decision to cancel cancer treatments and other care. I’m not sure how that is on Djokovic. A decision to deny medical care to unvaccinated Covid patients makes a hell of a lot more sense than to compel a vaccination that mitigates serious illness and death but is inefficient at reducing transmission.

bacchusfa

You cannot deny medical care to unvaccinated covid-19 patients. They are rescheduling procedures because these covid-19 cases are critical and life threatening and adding hospital short staffing they simply don't have the folks to cover non-life threatening operations. Now long term continuance of these practices will eventually result in deaths unfortunately.

ShlomoIbnGabirol

Why not? You seemingly have no problem depriving them of every other constitutional right.

bacchusfa

What every other constitutional right? Hyperbole much?

ShlomoIbnGabirol

Free assembly?

bacchusfa

Good god. You are nuts. Bye.

girthquake126

The problem is the first world is hoarding all the vaccines and boosters. So while countries like America get great immunity boosts from the vaccines, by the time they’ve been tested and distributed the virus has morphed somewhere else in the world (Omicron in South Africa for example) and the vaccines in circulation were developed before the new variant was even discovered. So obviously they’re not going to be super effective against a variant that didn’t exist during the trial period. If we want to get out of this, it’s going to take a global approach.
