Def was on this with my family when we were younger ! Glad to see old games come up

ManicFirestorm

I spent hours playing this game coop when I was younger! It took us an entire night to beat the Carpenter fight. Dude was fast as fuck.

denverdude5280

Just unlocked some memories for me, thank you! 😊

JGWentworthh877

Dude this game is sooo good. I spent hours trying to beat that fucking teddy bear. I would give anything to go back and play with my brother and sister again.

These-Conference-179

Played the preist 100% of the time cause he destroyed the vamps. A fun group game!

Oxfordcobra

Thanks for reminding me of this game. Fond memories!

Frank-White

Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy Every so often I have to google it to make sure it actually exists, because no one ever mentions it. You got cool powers to fight with, and the ending was a huge cliffhanger which said stayed tuned for number 2 or something and I kept staying tuned and they never made another

Bloodcloud079

To this date, best telekinesis implementation IMO. And the remote viewing + taking control of goons made for a very engaging stealth gameplay… Honestly I want someone to try the concept again!

Captain_Eaglefort

This and Second Sight. I loved both of those games and sometimes it feels like they never existed to anyone but me.

eternallove3

Legacy of Kain-Blood Omen. Only one other person I know knew what the hell I was on about...

Mr8BitX

This is one of those games that I always saw in store shelves but never gave it a chance bc the cover was bad (this and the first suikoden☹️)

glorytopie

Vae victus!

Life1989

Shadow of rome

pieinfaceisgoodpie

I remember this and enjoyed it. The stealth levels were pretty awful bit dang the combat in the arenas were great

NiSiSuinegEht

The original, Native American gets abducted by aliens, Prey. Spirit walking, zero g, portals, ran beautifully, way ahead of its time.

ManicFirestorm

That original Prey was great in it's own right, really interesting. I do love the new one though.

Voiceterous

Man that game was awesome! That opening sequence with the abduction and the people grinders was wild.

GameVoid

And Art Bell.

woyzeckspeas

I liked the bit where they shrink you. Very cool game.

DoctorInsurgency

Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg None of my friends ever heard of it.

Ticeben2

I played that again recently, still fun.

duhbuurz

Wow throw back

jcm10e

Came here for this. Such a good game. Always wished they’d rerelease it.

Ellemshaye

That game did some really clever things for some legitimately good scares. I remember getting to a small, empty room at the end of a hallway, and suddenly one of those slow-motion hallucinations happens where the doctor speaks to you for a little bit. Except this time, he’s surrounded by monsters standing at the ready. When the hallucination ends, the monsters are still there and are immediately messing you up. It was a surprise because usually anything showing up in the visions don’t transfer back to the real world like that.

spinky342

Timesplitters 2. Being able to make your own assault missions was amazing

Akai1up

Timesplitters: Future Prefect was also great!

KUPOkinz

Isn't this one of the most acclaimed games though? I thought everyone and their mother has played Timesplitters 2. If not, they need to be hit. With a stick.

Cursedbythedicegods

Brute Force Metal Arms: Glitch in the System Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction

DavoonyWoW

Metal Arms was really good

Over-Analyzed

It competed for Halo with me and my friends. We’d battle each other with hijacked drones. Then you’d have some asshole hijack the giant axe wielder and wreck all of us.

PenguinBomb

Brute Force was such an awesome co-op game.

timekiller2021

Brute Force was really fun playing co-op with my brother. Memories

psycharious

Mercenaries was amazing. I really hope they bring it back.

Cursedbythedicegods

Agreed! Peter Stormare as Mattias was my favorite.

These-Conference-179

Mercs was so much fun! Collecting the cards and causing mayhem.

crazydave_w

Metal Arms was the game that finally forced me to stop using legacy controls.

Zombie_Jesus_83

Metal Arms! "Will the party, or parties, who released all of the experimental looney bots please return them to their pens. They are shooting the employees. Thank you." All these years later and this dialog still makes me chuckle.

RyuugaDota

Man I was so damned excited when I Bought Brute Force and so damned disappointed that none if my friends liked it lol.

iAMspeen

Jet Set Radio Future. I've only known 2 other people who played it...and they were my brothers

High and a winner. Got a hot hand. Place your bets, ladies and gentlemen.

StinkyCheeseBruh

Loved this and the original! He’s a sweet soul brother.

ezio8133

Extra sugar Extra Salt

Alzorrilla1912

I'd have to say jade empire, i really loved that gamw, i was the only one with an Xbox in my friend group so it was kind of unknown around my circle

BinxMe

That was a great game.

Alzorrilla1912

Yeah... i'd love a remake... but after seeing the kind of crap they're pulling these days... maybe it's better they stay away from it

madasser03

It was pretty much Knights of the old republic set in medieval Asia (which are all precursor to MassEffect). That was a fun game, especially for scratching that SWKOTOR itch. If you're a fan of those types of games, you have to play Jade Empire.

crazydave_w

I thought it had a really emotional story. I remember the an old dude talking about the dam flood almost putting me in tears. I tried the port that's on gamepass right now, but it's unplayable.

ministeringinlove

* Little Nemo: The Dream Master * Star Ocean: The Second Story * Star Ocean: Till the end of time

DarthDregan

Advent Rising

ManicFirestorm

Holy SHIT, I loved that game. I was pissed it was dead on arrival and everyone kept comparing it to Halo. Still not over getting the promised trilogy.

DarthDregan

Went back and played it on Steam a while back and it's still fucking awesome. It kind of WAS like Halo but with psychic powers and leveling like Oblivion for abilities AND weapons. Made me so sad when those devs decided to become a mobile games company. But I'll never lose hope. Still haven't found anything that scratches all the itches Advent left me with.

ManicFirestorm

The powers were so much fun! Leveling up and getting lifted into the air just felt epic.

psycharious

That soundtrack is amazing

Fallofman2347

Still one of my all time favorites.

fufupapaxon

Giants: Citizen Kabuto

PsyJr2020

Came here for this!!! I want a new game from this universe. Playing as the giant was so much fun. I was 7 or 8 when we first got it and I spent so long playing it. Took me years to beat.

wesleyar1

Monster Rancher!

trezm

Came here to find this. My people.

Crimfresh

Fusion Frenzy was the goods.

Deathcrow73

Soul Reaver 2

Runnah5555

The legacy of Kain IP must be in some sort of legal nightmare. No way we would’ve gotten this far without a sequel or remake.

GaryV83

Don't know of the legal state of the series, but I can't imagine continuing the story without Tony Jay as the Elder God. They did have that [online multiplayer hack-and-slash/shooter](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosgoth), but nothing came of it as it never left beta.

unicorn_defender

I’ll say it every time it’s brought up, but Squarenix did Nosgoth SO dirty. That game was incredibly fun and truly unique. Psyonix worked their asses off to make a good game and Square tried to turn it into a cash cow before it was barely in open beta. Such a travesty. Me and my friends had a blast playing that game. One of the few times that I had fun no matter if I won or lost. If I ever become a multi millionaire I’m buying the IP and putting that game back out! Edit: and I’ll bring back Dead Sun for all the die hards 👍🏻

zman_0000

I played the crap out of 1+2 but never got the chance to play Defiance... UNTIL I had a friend who had defiance on his OG Xbox several years after the PS3 release. He hadn't played it as it was a hand me down game from his step dad's collection (and he felt left out of the story as he didn't know about the rest of the franchise) So I sat him down one weekend when we had time and we had a mini gaming marathon through all 3 games. It was wonderful to get some closure from Soul Reaver 2.

elhombreloco90

Man, that was a fun series.

Mingismungis

War of the Gems for SNES. Pretty awesome marvel beat 'em up

PuddleRunner

I still think about Hunter the Reconkening sometimes

ManicFirestorm

It pops into my head every few months or so with nostalgia. I have the ability to play it but without coop it just won't be the same.

janderson75

ChromeHounds

WispOfWoe

Played this when I was really young, amazing game! Didn’t know it was a part of a novel franchise, the concept alone was truly amazing, another interplay classic 😏

ManicFirestorm

Oh I spent so many nights playing coop with my childhood friend. The second one, Redeemer, was freaking great as well. Such a cool world.

alexanderdeeb

It's actually based on a tabletop game in the World of Darkness, a set of role-playing games themed around gothic horror. Vampire: the Masquerade was the more famous sibling.

placeholderNull

Growing up, I was the only damn kid on the block who played a Mother/Earthbound game. Everyone else thought that Ness and Lucas were just from Smash Bros.

Backfats

PsyOps, I loved it and no one has ever heard of played it. :(

Voiceterous

Mutant League Football and Mutant League Hockey for the SEGA Genesis. I’m a little sad they haven’t been updated because the premise is great fun. But I’m pretty sure they were EA, so they’d be ruined anyway.

madasser03

Parasite Eve on the PS1. Loved this game back in the day but never beat it. I've tried playing it on various emulators since but it's always too buggy.

ParadoxArcher

Crusader: No Remorse (and the sequel). 3rd-person isometric, with lots of cool weapons, destructible environments and explosive violence. [link](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTpEJLcddX4)

Weesnawbuttstuff

Masters of Orion

8all5oH4rd

An old Intellivision game called Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Treasure of Tarmin. It was first person perspective, turn based combat, and randomly generated levels. Really felt ahead of its time. I think it would still be fun to play today.

ffi

I just dug up my old Intellivision at my parents house this xmas. I also picked up a CRT TV. The only game that was broken? Advanced D&D. So disappointed :(

8all5oH4rd

Oh wow, that sucks. It looks like you can get it on eBay though. I have no idea what happened to my Intellivision and it makes me sad. I guess when you're young you don't realize what you'll become nostalgic for.

abeLuna

Tenchu Stealth Assassin

Left4DayZ1

Descent II. iirc it was the first fully 3D modeled first person shooter with 6 degrees of movement. Well I guess technically the first Descent holds that crown, but you know what I mean. Descent II just had better visuals, design, and music - [holy hell the music in that game kicked ass](https://youtu.be/_UGGojdnjSc?t=408). The opening cinematic was impressive for the time, too.

Psykho72

Eternal Darkness :Sanity's Requiem

c7hu1hu

Love that game!

Gamer_Girl2008

I LOVE Eternal Darkness!!!

m1raclez

Really fun co op game. Nothing at all like the white wolf rpg though, lol

ManicFirestorm

Holy fucking shit, it never dawned on me that White Wolf made these games. I love me some Vampire TMBL!

misterperiodtee

Space Shuttle for NES General Chaos for Sega Genesis Homeworld for PC

Mingismungis

General Chaos, this takes me back. I played that game before I even knew how to pronounce the word chaos, I would call it "general chay-ose"

thegamerant

Septerra core

GameVoid

I actually won a copy of Septerra Core in a sweepstakes I had completely forgotten entering. Was just chilling at home one day when a brand new video game shows up on my doorstep out of nowhere.

Several-Archer4786

Vagrant Story. One of my favorites from PS1 that I still own . Cool game of medieval espionage, and demons. One of the first games I remember where you crafted weapons from parts found during gameplay and defeating bosses. Also had a targeting system, similar to Fallout.

[deleted]

Primal. Dark Cloud. Dark Chronicle. Legend of Dragoon.

madog1418

I had been talking to another friend about dark cloud because I remember thinking the weapon system was cool, it turned out he was streaming his play through on ps4 via psnow. The funny thing is I had never even played it, I watched a friend play it like twice and thought the sewer clown was the main villain.

colt61986

I never finished legends of dragoon. I wish I would have. I like the concept of turn based combat with timing skills as well.

byeproduct

Grim Fandango was such fun ..

memphis1010

Alpha Protocol

ManicFirestorm

Great game, clunky as hell but the idea behind it ruled. Wish they'd give it another go.

memphis1010

I've always said that. I'm a fan of when they try to pull the RPG out of swords and magic. Looking quite forward too starfield. Going secret agent route was fun. First game I truly remember playing through a bunch of times to get all of the different outcomes.

syraxven

Depends on your definition of "old," but I loved Red Steel 2 on the Wii and never got to talk about it. Had some spectacular first person sword and gunplay. Now that I think about it, the game would work pretty well in VR. Deserves some sort of remake/remaster.

kingdavidbaker

Timesplitters 2

mikethefecalmonkey

Anyone remember the Syphon Filter series?

ManicFirestorm

Oh hell yea. Tasing guys until they catch on fire.

BGugz93

fuck yessss! me and my brother played as avenger and judge! some of the best times i had playing a video game. thank you for this 🙏

ManicFirestorm

I was always Avenger too! Love that massive axe and shotgun combo.

ensiferum888

Normality, I remember playing it at my local internet cafe back in 1998, super odd first person game.

Fleadip

Heretic Hexen Solar Winds

That brings me way back. I was going to say E.T. but I’m not ready for the downvotes.

Atomsteel

That scorpion was a dick.

JoeChagan

atari or 16/32 bit? "we are not the same" That said both were pretty popular at the time. OG was HUGE but the 16bit version put up solid numbers and had like 10 ports.

Ceased2Be

I think I actually have this up in the attic somewhere. Completely forgot about it.

ManicFirestorm

I just got my copy from my parents when I was home for the holidays. Really brought me back.

Hellzing

Martian Gothic. It's a PS1 game that was just terrible in such a way its beautiful. Horrible graphics, camera angles, puzzles, and oh God the voice acting. I get shivers just thinking about it. I'd play it again but I don't have 8 hours to lose myself in it now and days.

Complete_Entry

G-NOME. 1997, 7th level https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-Nome Mech fighting game with Grand Theft Mech mechanics. You could eject from your mech if it was too damaged, or even if you just felt like it. On foot you had a rifle that would eject other pilots, allowing you to steal their mech, and step on them. In a thread yesterday, I wrote that I missed the old flat textures for terrain that generation of games had. G-NOME was a commercial flop. :(

Cursedbythedicegods

I remember this one. It came free with a software bundle when I bought my first PC back in college. Played it for a while, but then Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries came out.

starcraftre

Advent Rising.

thevictor390

Sky Odyssey.

darkhorseprime

There was a sequel also called Hunter : the reckoning: redeemer

ManicFirestorm

Oh I'm well aware. Loved them both.

FlowPhysical8031

Star Control 2 - what an epic adventure! Space Quest 1 through 6 - good clean fun there 🤓

malik753

I played it after it's open source release as The Ur-Quan Masters. I really want to make a game inspired by that one, but I can't convince anyone I know to play it because it's so old (and admittedly not for everyone). If I ever get serious about making a game, I will probably recommend that anyone working on it with me play Star Control Origins, since it gives you a similar feel.

Probably Hexen 2. I mean, Heretic and Hexen we're good, but Hexen 2 was like the culmination.

BrittanyOldehoff

Lords of the Realm II

Ech_Death

sonic advance trilogy

Ticeben2

You mean the gba sonic games? Those were great

Shinigami510

I know people don't really talk about this game a lot but.. The Technomancer is a really great game. Hilarious but fun RPG.

ManicFirestorm

Never played Technomancer, but they made Greedfall too right?

Shinigami510

They did. Also this game called Steel Rising. https://youtu.be/EawShVPBoeI

isda187

Yep that is Spiders. They also made Of Orcs and Men, which while not award winning by any means, it was interesting to see a game where the main characters are not your typical human knight of goodness and law. (This was the game that also spawned the spinoff Styx games. Which was made by what is more or less the sister studio Cyanide, which were some quite good stealth games, kind of like the old Thief games but with the main character being a goblin.) Oh....they also made Bound by Flame...but no one wants to talk about that game.

cawsking555

I use to love playing m.u.d games but sadly people have for gotten about the in its Entirety.

imtherealbatman85

Kingpin old pc game or James pond

Rabidredneck010

On the PS2, Robot Alchemic Drive and Warship Gunner 2. Played the hell out of those games. Miss them to this day.

isda187

I remember RAD myself quite fondly as well. On a side note, just learned the other day that apparently its actually more or less a sequel by the way. Seems the company that made RAD was just a bunch of guys from a complany called Human Entertainment and they made a ps1 japan only game called Remote Controlled Dandy, and it had a fan translation released last year.

Falcorsucks

I never knew anybody who had mischief makers on N64

Hypnotoad-107

M.U.L.E. On the C64.

sub0_2

Way of the Samurai, the first couple were so cool, 3 was a let down though.

ArtsDead

Half life deathmatch

memorgeo

Me and my wife used to play this in high school together! I forgot how fun this was. I also ended up looking into the tabletop game because of this. Thanks for reminding me of some very fond memories.

xMemzi

Star Wars Battlefront 2 (old) Or the Harry Potter 2 game

tronjackson22

Darkwatch. Choice driven vampire cowboys, so much nostalgia

Sake_Mizinori

Darkwatch as a concept is still really interesting imo. I could see it becoming a dark series on HBO or something.

FurballFather

The Neverhood

TheeDonut

Dark watch. I think it was called. Vampire shooter that actually had alt endings and abilities based on choices. It was on PS2 and was fun as hell

tbell713

Beyond Good & Evil popped in my head after reading this question.

Hornswaggle

Fallout Tactics

Error-451

There was a game on PS1 called Brave Fencer Musashi. Not particularly groundbreaking or anything, but it was fun and had a humorous story. I loved it growing up but can't find anyone who has even heard of it.

majorminorminor

Brave Fencer was the first rpg I fell in love with. Good to see another fan

CanadianGamerGuy

Star Trek: Legacy

Caiden_The_Stoic

My girlfriend and I recently used a Gamecube emulator to coop this on my computer. It was a blast! Shame the second game isn't available on a working image yet.

evilkasper

Hunter the Reckoning was fun. I miss the days when White Wolf published video games. They should port these to PC.

halo2isbetterthan3

OBLIVION.

PsyJr2020

Everyone and their dog has heard of/played skyrim but bring up morrowind or oblivion (or even arena if you wannaget em real good) and they look like deer in headlights.

cybertoaster23

Loved this game when I was younger!

elhombreloco90

I remember this game, but never played it. Always seemed fun to me.

RS1980T

I still habe this for my xbox. I loved it. Had one of the only escort missions I didnt hate.

JedTheGuy

Star Trek: New Worlds. RTS from around 2000 that nobody I know has ever even heard of.

madasser03

I played a Star Trek themed FPS around the same time frame ST Voyager Elite Force. I've never met another human being that's ever heard of it much less sunk hours of their life into it as I did.

DaFundsGuy

Final Fantasy XII

corvus338

Asheron's Call

GameVoid

I remember pre-launch there was some hype about the magic system and how you would basically be able to craft your own spells. Turned out to be just like every other magic system but the game was still good. Early user of instanced dungeons unlike EQ where everyone was fighting over the same monster spawns.

CharlesChinigan

Red Steel 2 on the Wii. Great game play, meh story. But damn is it fun to run around as a cowboy samurai.

Sangrinn

Tibia the MMORPG and Monster Rancher as a franchise. I've showed some people the games and the only thing that gets a reaction is using random movies and games to get monsters in Monster Rancher.

jg6410

iron and blood for the PS1. It was cool as heck.

Luder09

The Third World War on Sega CD https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The\_Third\_World\_War\_(video\_game)

dick-slapperman

Jersey Devil or the Toy Story Game for PS1

xTyianx

Kya Dark Linage, really cool ps2 games with boomerangs or shuriken like things, capturing wolves to turn them back into humans

BetaTalk64

Castlevania and Mother. Only one of my friends beat Mother 2 and 3, while the other played 5 minutes and gave up. None of my friends played Castlevania, so it's just myself and random internet folk to chat about Castlevania lol.
