I tried to propagate this cutting in Leca, in a closed enclosure with the water at 1/3 but it ended up rotting. I would love to know what did I do wrong. Am I supposed to change the water often? Any thoughts? Thankyou!

I know I deserve the grief I’m about to get but please be kind! I have had this monstera for 2 years and never repotted. The plant looks super healthy as you can see from the photo. However it’s clear to see the state the roots are in. What should I do? Is it too early to repot? I live in the UK.
