Sorry to hear about your stomach worries. And congrats on being healed! May I ask how long you were on the bland diet and ppi? And how did you know when to wean off?

Yeah! The GI doctor I visited had me on the diet and PPI for 5 months but they told me the average is 3 months, it just depends on the person. And then she told me in January to start weaning off at the end of the 5 months. And I could tell a difference after a month already so by January it was getting back to normal Edit: I also want to add that my diet wasn’t as bland as this subreddit says. I could still eat meat and dairy, I just avoided spicy, acidic, and greasy foods. Those really aggravated my stomach

So you felt better after weaning off? And how did you wean down did you get rebound? Thank you

Yeah so far I haven’t been nauseous since January 2021. I weaned off the medicine and was able to reintroduce some foods with no issues. I had a couple instances of acid reflux here and there but other than that, things have been okay. My biggest problems are just that I have this sort of PTSD now where I worry that my gastritis is gonna come back. But as time passes and nothing happens, I’ve gotten better and better. For weaning off, I basically started by taking my PPI every other day, then the next week I would take it every two days, etc. I would say listen to your stomach and you should know when your body has healed. My GI doctor said I should be healed by November 2020 but I still needed some time as I still felt the nausea a couple times after eating so she let me go until January and then I was for sure okay. anxiety is linked to it so worrying about it will definitely make your stomach a bit uneasy, there’s nothing to worry about since you’ve recovered. just take care of yourself diet wise and focus on the positive, don’t dwell on the past. try out some breathing exercises with your distractions.
