In which Indy!Harry needs an intervention from his true friends.

Seriously, that "ancient pagan traditions" is such a flag! Happens when any major character is sorted in slytherin in the fic. And in any Daphne greengrass fic. And this is considered a good thing and the only way to defeat the DE is through learning their culture. Never works in real life!
I would love to read this intervention fic.
It is like the fic writers aren't even aware that they are using the "I can't be racist because I have a Token Black Friend" argument seen through a fantasy lens.
Especially if those ancient pagan traditions are from [1950s](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wicca).
Oh. Lols. Just got the reference 😆. Wiccans are harmless, though.
Loved it. Where Daphne or any other token friendly slytherin is merely laying the ground to get Harry on their side.
She/they saw Harry all isolated and thought it an oportunity to get him with them by merely playing the role of his friend when he was alone and isolated. Classic tactic of abusers/cults/radical groups(death eaters).
It’d be a good way to focus on Harry’s own insecurities. Like, focusing on his time with the Dursleys and how the Slytherins bring them out and make him unconsciously second guess everything with his friends and the people that care about him. It’d also be a good way to sort of help with the problems in different dynamics Harry has with different people.
It’d also give the Slytherins more credit, make them seem less like obnoxious brats and more cunning, manipulative, and good with people.
Like, if they made his trust in Dumbledore dwindle because they tell him of how Dumbledore *left* him with the Dursleys, how he let him deal with Quirrel, how he never helped to make sure Sirius had a trial.
It could emphasize on how no one from the Order — not Remus, or Tonks, or Hestia, or anyone who’d known his parents — ever tried to help him or get in contact with him while he was being raised with the Dursleys. It could cloud his judgment and remind him that Sirius never escaped Azkaban for Harry. It’d always been for revenge. From the beginning, when he left Harry with Hagrid on that Halloween night, it’d always been for revenge Harry stopped him from ever getting…
They could remind Harry that Ron *left* Harry after the Dumbledore pulled his name out of the Goblet, focus on Ron’s flaws instead of the good things about him.
They could remind him of how Remus *never* came for him, never came to try and help him.
It could also be a way to bring out Harry’s more ambitious side and make him be a better student, perhaps be a bit more like the Marauders and Snape in that aspect. It could bring out Harry’s more introverted, loner side plus his own pessimism, making him a lot more brooding and intimidating than usual.
I quite like this idea. Could I perhaps use it in a fic, OP?
If you do make a fic could you please post a link to it here?

This my friends, is trope subversion done right (take note Rian Johnson and GOT screenwriters).
How is the Dark Arts being actually corruptive be subversive? It is fantasy 101. xD
You could say that is a subversion but the Daphne fics are alrady a subversion, so a subversion of a subversion? Right back at canon, I guess xD.
It is subverting expectations because we have all read those angsty Indy!Harry fics that are all over the place where the good guys are manipulative jerks and the bad guys are misunderstood Teddy Bears, there is no such thing as Dark Magic, Slytherin House/Daphne/Draco are the only ones that truly understand Harry, etc. This prompt LOOKS LIKE it is going in that direction, but then swerves around to go the opposite way.
