Is Tug Of War a masterpiece?

I don’t know if I would call it a straight up “masterpiece,” but it’s an incredible album. I listen to it quite regularly myself. The title track is incredible.
Does Tug Of War have "The Pound Is Sinking?" Then yes.
I’d say Tug of War is amongst Paul’s best for most of the album. However, from Get It onwards it completely loses my interest.
Yes. There’s some filler on the album that makes it fall just short of the “masterpiece” label, but there’s no doubt it’s an incredible album.
Also, the fact that we had a Carl Perkins/Paul McCartney duet and then it ended up being Get It has got to be one of the great missed opportunities of Paul’s career. My Old Friend is a much better song from their collaboration, though it’s too Perkins led to work on a Paul album.
Definitely a missed opportunity, though I quite like Get It. It’s just very fun and very Paul. My Old Friend’s a real great thing to come out of their friendship/collaboration though. Definitely the more “proper” song
For me, it's the title track. Never cared for it.
I consider it a 4/4.5 star album precisely because of its unevenness towards the end. But Wanderlust... oh, Wanderlust!!! *That* is a masterpiece.
I definitely consider it a 5 star album. I consider McCartney 2 - 1980 and Flowers in the dirt all 5 Star albums rich with heady absorbing and diverse material....3 power packed albums in the decade.
Flowers In The Dirt is hands-down one of the best albums of the late 1980s, no question. Absolute gem.
I think im in a minority that really cant enjoy it. But if you love it then im happy for you and Paul, because i think all his work should be appreciated. I really enjoy Pipes of Peace more, but the few songs i like on Tug of War have more meaning to me than the entire album of Pipes
A very good album? Yes.
A masterpiece? Absolutely not.
Has some great tracks, tug of war, take it away, somebody who cares, here today and wanderlust. A 4/5 for me.
Don't think so. Fantastic album though. The A Side is a masterpiece lol
What’s That You’re Doing and Get It? No.
There is one correct answer.
I say yes great album all time masterpiece I listen to on Spotify and Pandora on my app
It so great.
I wouldn’t give any credence to a rolling stone review.
Yes, imo. It’s a great record, some incredible melodies on that one imo
