If Monero had the same market cap as Dogecoin..

If Monero had the same market cap as Dogecoin..

Yes xmr is definitely a top 3 crypto currency. I used to be exposed with 20% but now I am 100%. The opportunity is too good to miss it. This crypto currency will shock the world. Xmr should already be at $2k - $5k if it was not for heavy price manipulation and lack of visibility and accesibility for new comers

wishingdrags

FUTURE ME WILL BE SO PROUD OF ME IF THIS IS TRUE

Spannered32

\> Call me a moon boy but I think it is only a matter of time before this happens. Yeah, I've been thinking the same for the last 4 years

XMR_MartyByrde

Are you still bullish ?

wishingdrags

That’s the real question

majodulwillyl3

It will happen, I ain't selling any of my XMR or either similar coins like RAIL etc.

knowbodynows

When I sunk a chunk into xmr I first made a chart of the size of the Blockchain each month (this was before that crucial update a couple years ago that made the transaction sizes smaller) In order to see the curve of how fast the use was growing. I'd be interested to see the comparison of growth *rate* (The curve not the number of transactions) vs doge over the last two years. I predict the monero curve is steeper. I also predict that you see hardly any increase in the steepness of the doge curve following Elon's tweets. In other words the important thing is how fast the adoption and use is growing, not the price.

WhatMixedFeelings

I’d love to see some graphs or information on the Monero blockchain size. Most people don’t even consider size of transactions and potential bloating of a blockchain, but it should be of major concern when a chain grows exponentially, like Ethereum did with cryptokitties. Speaking of which, do decoy addresses add lots of extra data to the chain?

DaMarxrider

nah, especially once triptych is finished. after triptych tx-size to decoy-count will scale logarithmically. in my opinion xmr is already better prepared for mainstream use, than most other coins, especially thanks to the dynamic block-size

pebx

I see it exactly like this and can't wait for the dynamic block size to finally kick in to see it in action!

Auhr184

Do you have a link to this? I follow Raoul Pal and he mentions this often, how network effect proceeds price and he measures that by checking transactions, number of addresses and community. needless to say he is bullish on Eth for these reasons.

knowbodynows

Me too. ETH+BCH+XMR ftw, for the same reasons. They all have huge dev communities, and are most often offered as payment options. There's no link. I just did it on Excel the time. Just check the dates on the blocks. Make a column of months. Make the second column the block numbers that were produced first on the corresponding date in the first column. Chart it.

letmeinmannnnn

BCH nahhhhh

knowbodynows

So scientific!

koelhobit

Since 2008 I'm waiting for the stock market collapse... Maybe this collapse that will come triggers the xmr price up

[deleted]

You waiting for the stock market to collapse since the last stock market crash? Huh? There was a crash in March 2020, pretty decent one. The stock market will not crash, of course there could be a (short) bear market, but the stock market is going up only, that's programmed into the system. It basically have to grow all the time, that how the system works, otherwise it's not stable. And you absolutely don't want to have this system getting unstable in a fast pace (collapse), because many people will die and neither Gold or Monero will save you.

Morphius9201

Would be good if you had a system that could predict XMR performances :D

jolly_octopus

I've been using this crystal ball that works about half of the time.

Morphius9201

want to exchange crystal balls?

DissapointedCanadian

Soon as people start cashing out public coins after the next ATH, and have to pay crazy taxes. It will explode. So will distributed exchanges.

grigio

yes

So we are all Team Weirdo.

Well then most of the world is a shithole, because "Weirdos" are often the nicest people in a society and the ones introducing positive change and innovation. The possibility to be "different" but respected is crucial for a free society and for the society to evolve.

Right now weirdos are the people that know the truth before everyone else. Once people wake up to how much they are being tracked and taxed, there will be a world migration to XMR. When you’ll say you sent someone money, it’ll just be the shorthand word for Monero.

Make an effigy of him from your hair and toenail clippings and put it outside his house!

anapherein

Just don’t tell Elizabeth Warren about Monero. Or Janet Yellen. Or Gary Gensler. We don’t want them to know. Haha.

iamwhoiam101101110

I feel like Jack Dorsey might get on board

mcstain

I personally believe a bigger factor is simply the lack of visibility and availability of XMR on major exchanges. Normies but what they can see pumping, and if they hear about XMR but it isn’t available on their exchange of choice they won’t buy it.

SeriesComprehensive9

Never bought this argument as it’s alwYs been listed on the biggest exchange, binance.

pollinoidchipchopo5

XMR SCRT ZEC are my top 3 privacy coins. SCRT provides space for programmable privacy i n smart contracts

ADOLF_THE_TWEAKED

Look up zano, mining rewards are good, private, both pow and pos so very safe against attacks made by the cryptonote founder wich is what monero is a fork of, still at around 24mil market cap very lowkey at the moment

pollinoidchipchopo5

Sounds good. Does it have privacy preserving smart contract features like SCRT?

programming_student2

SCRT can be Monero-Killer if the smart contracts actually work. It can eat into Monero's main market on the dark web.

pollinoidchipchopo5

SCRT smart contracts are actually working and lots of projects are getting built

_mirooo

Without smart contracts it won’t have the utility to go that high.

SeriesComprehensive9

Doge smart contracts? Btc smart contracts?

_mirooo

Both are shit. Bitcoin outdated af, and doge… won’t waste time on that.

SeriesComprehensive9

Doge shit yes Bitcoin okay buddy.

_mirooo

Bitcoin isn’t outdated? Besides first mover advantage and being household name, the utility is not there. Defi is where it’s at these days. If Tari gets released and has solid development on the smart contracts, it’ll be good news for XMR.

SeriesComprehensive9

Btc and xmr do not need smart contracts, imo btc Is the new gold or blue chip stock. Saying Bitcoin is outdated is like saying dms are outdated - they both do what they claim to do on the tin and they’re both exponentially growing regardless

_mirooo

We’ll see!

SeriesComprehensive9

Ooh couple that with atomic swaps - first transactions took place on main net couple days ago. Vectors for xmr Liquidity are opening due to demand, with or without CEXs

SeriesComprehensive9

Indeed. Smart contracts =/= defi tho - you don’t think the Monero network is decentralised finance? Anyone with a cpu can run a node and mine xmr, it’s extremely decentralised

_mirooo

No, I get that. But monero doesn’t earn me more monero by just holding it. Defi does that. So holding monero is just dependent on price action to make money, whereas defi you earn % regardless of price action.

SeriesComprehensive9

Ah okay yes I do see your point, although I avoid such things as I’m unwilling to relinquish ownership of my private keys. Then again having the choice to stake some of my portfolio would be nice.

Stiltzkinn

Being fungible put it top three on my list.

Experts-say

Start memeing then! Doge owns the largest market share of yolo/edgelord/lolz people. XMR currently isn't in that market because its too sensical.

wishingdrags

WOW this is the confirmation bias i needed

avoidingaction

Lol. These posts always crack me up.
