Try and sell me on a current meta deck
By - DynamotheTyphlosion
So @Ignister gives you full access to every summoning mechanic players like (pretending no one likes pendulum) all that can be easily achieved with a single card. Speaking of single cards, did you know you can get a 4k-6k towers that can only be killed by a kaiju or bigger number. Not enough? Well what if I said that came along with a negate you can activate from grave and a synchro that redirects everything to itself and bounces on attack. What, you want more? Well what if I told you that this is all possible with just 1, yes 1 normal summon. Sure might be in trouble if that summon gets negated. And sure you're completely dead to a single droll, ash, imperm, veiler, and lack of a called by the grave in hand cause konami won't unlimit the god damn thing COME ON ITS BEEN OVER A YEAR AT THIS POINT.... But that's were the fun truly begins cause if you survive one turn is OTK time with many favorite like Accesscode, Avarmax, and my personal favorite; Darkfluid. And if that's not enough, all the backrow are puns.
You're truly a genius
And even then, I think you are underselling @Ignister’s ability to play through those handtraps (bar Droll) a bit. Like half your main deck is extender as long as you have a way to get to the field spell, which makes it feasible to set up The Arrival with a decent hand even after taking one of those. And even then, @Ignister has an absolutely insane amount of free space available in the deck for handtraps and whatever else, so even if you do get halted, stopping your opponent from doing their own plays with your generics is still pretty within reason too.
And if that's not enough, it gets more support in Brothers of Legend with another reborn and some other stuff :) (and AI looks fabulous in human form :3)
You think it’s worth buying into @ignister rn or wait for the tins in a month for possible reprints?
Depends on how badly you want to play the deck.
Now hear me out here, give Dragon Link a try.
Dragons are cool. They're the most popular type for a reason. All of the card art is sick. Even the deck itself sounds cool in concept. The culmination of 20 years of dragon support combining to create a powerful meta contender? Sounds pretty cool to me.
The deck is ALL gas. Every card that you play (except handtraps) is an extender, or a combo starter, or both. There are so many different lines of play and end boards you can make. There is almost never a time when there isn't something you can do to push your combo further. You have an answer for nearly everything in the game
Do you like drawing cards? This deck draws a fuckton of cards. Going full combo and ending with handtraps and backup plays in your hand feels amazing, and this deck does it easy. Or don't even bother with backup plays and just burn everything on one massive endboard.
Dragons are big and big numbers are funny. All of your bigboys easily hit 3k+ attack. Savage is usually 3.5k. Hot Red archfiend abyss is 3.2k. Borrelsword is a card. Chaos Levi, Chaos Ruler, Darkness Metal, they all swing for fat damage and it's funny every time.
I get that people don't like the deck. It's been powerful for a long time, and people are tired of seeing it. But I think it's cool as fuck. I like dragons. I like drawing cards. I like long combos. I like having different options. I like being able to play the game regardless of interaction. I like hitting really hard.
For similar reasons, try Earth Machine. A repeatable advantage engine that draws you loads of cards. Lots of answers for any situation. Non-linear combos. BIG NUMBERS.
Ps. Flower cardians are awesome. Activating willow 8 times in a turn is hilarious.
You just perfectly described how I feel about this deck
I started playing the deck after Linkross got hit because I felt like the deck was just way too degenerate before. I wanted to give it a try now that it wasn't as strong, and then I realized the power. I never thought I'd enjoy a deck so much.
Even with Elpy gone and Striker at one, the deck has plenty of options, they're just a bit more fragile. The deck still definitely has what it takes to compete. Take a look at the July 2021 Remote YCS, Dragonlink took 2nd to Prankids.
You get your lines of play off more consistently, a stray handtrap is very unlikely to end your turn, placing high at tournaments gives you a rush, I could go on but I don't want to cover everything.
I was more asking what meta decks are actually fun to play and less the "you will win more" type benefits of playing meta decks generally.
Well fun is subjective, you're going to have to try them yourself.
Drytron is a solid deck that you’ll have fun playing bc it can setup multiple negates and otk. It really is the full package bc it can do it all. It can grind, it has various plays like xyz, link and rituals. I mean beyond the ftk style where you setup 4-6+ negates bc of ultimateness, it’s a pretty cool deck that supports ritual based decks, which is not common. Once they hit drytron again I hope benten gets hit, it’ll be more of a fair deck but one that can be more resource intensive and grindy deck vs a deck that just tries to ftk your opp.
The deck can be fun once it gets hit it just gets overshadowed right now by the effectiveness of herald engine negating everything.
I hate drytron because all of the main deck monsters are pretty indistinguishable from each other so i have to look up all of them every time
Drytron just seems so boring to me and I played it for a bit and it’s not fun for me personally
Earth machines is probably a better deck for you.
Its about winning or losing, its about the sexy card art.
That is why I play a Jinzo deck <3
I love a man with a big, throbbing brain.
Jokes aside, just play what you enjoy and play against people who understand that. I want to play a impcantation/hungry burger deck, so I will. I DONT GIVE A FUCK!
Do you happen to have your jinzo decklist? :)
3x jinzo the machine menace
3x jinzo jector
3x jinzo returner
3 psychic bounder
1x psychic megacyber
1x cyber dragon
1x black salvo
3x psycic wave
3x cosmos chanelling
3x cyber energy shock
3x everlasting alloy
3x law of the cosmos
3x limit removal
1x future fusion
3x call of the haunted
for the extra deck I manly use my basic cards like number 101, tornado dragon, knightmare, borrelload, etc.
Just add as many jinzo layered as you can, a chimeratech overdragon so you can send cyber dragon, a jinzo and jinzo returner to the GY and a samurai destroyer for the black salvo.
You can add more or less future fusions, cyber dragons and black salvos, I just needed something to replace jinzo lord. I don't like that card, even though its the boss monster of the archetype.
A Jinzo deck without Jinzo #7? Amateur
I had a version that used jinzo #7, limit removal and machine duplication for OTK potential, but it was to inconstant.
There are a surprising amount of jinzo cards, so you cant fit all of them into a 40 card deck. So poor #7 had to get cut :(
I was just kidding lol. That's pretty cool though. Sucks when you have to take a card out that you like
Yeah, you would not think there would be 15 jinzo main deck cards (Including the unofficial jinzo card, psychic shockwave). That is a 45 card deck before you even start adding stuff like call of the haunted, limit removal, etc.
Its a lot more that some more popular archetypes. I just wish he had more extra deck monsters.
Utopia is really fun and with overlay universe coming out it’s gonna be really good and I would recommend playing raidraptors and time thief’s with it but pure is still really good and fun
Usually the really “fun” decks are not meta, so it seems like its one or the other imo.
The simple list as to why you should try out Ancient Warriors:
- Works rather well with Tri-Brigade because they are all Beast-Warriors.
- They are okay Tenki targets if you opened Fraktall.
- 2 AW cards become 3 interruptions (A pop on the biggest monster on the opp’s field, a bounce, and a backrow neg)
- They’re based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms
- They OTK like a bitch
- Epic boardbreakers, and Loyal Guan Yun is an absolute house
